No compromises: How we choose leather that tells its own story

The story of a good wallet or belt doesn't just begin in our workshop. It begins in Tuscany and Veneto, in family tanneries that have been perfecting their craft for centuries.

In addition to our standard offering of premium Italian leather, we recently took a step further and introduced something truly special - exotic leather from verified, certified suppliers. These materials bring a completely different texture and visual character, created for those who want a unique piece that immediately stands out from everything else.

Whether it's exotic or classic, we work exclusively with materials that have a story like Pueblo and Buttero or Shell Cordovan leather, about which you can find out more below.

Badalassi Carlo • San Miniato, Tuscany

This iconic tannery adheres exclusively to traditional vegetable tanning using natural tannins from tree bark (vachetta). No chemicals and no rush for over 40 years. Among other things, they produce our favorite two opposites that complement each other perfectly:

Pueblo: Distinguished by its specific, lightly brushed matte texture that feels almost velvety to the touch. Pueblo has an incredible ability to transform – as you wear it, it absorbs oils from your hands, darkens, and develops a deep, rich patina with a subtle sheen.

Buttero: The opposite of rustic Pueblo. Smooth, dense, and exceptionally strong full-grain leather. Due to its rigidity and elegance, it perfectly holds its shape and structure and is ideal for straps that need to outlive trends.

Rocado • Santa Croce sull’Arno, Pisa

In northern Italy, in the so-called "capital of leather", the Rocado family hand-produces Shell Cordovan. It is one of the most prized pieces of leather in the world because it is obtained exclusively from a very specific part of horsehide.

The tanning process itself takes more than half a year. Cordovan has no pores, possesses a deep, natural glassy sheen and is extremely resistant to moisture. The best part? It doesn't wrinkle. At the points of flexion, it will never crack or develop sharp lines, but only soft, smooth waves.

Why we don't compromise

The mass industry uses plastic coatings and harsh chemicals to mask the imperfections of cheap leather and achieve uniformity. We do the opposite.

From timeless Tuscan classics to rare exotics, our mission is to highlight every pore and natural texture of the leather. Our pieces are designed to withstand daily pulling from pockets, trousers, and bags, with the goal that they become stronger, more beautiful, and more personal with age.
